Cultivate Balance

~ Life is about balance

Cultivate Balance is about throwing the doors of the therapy room open to everyone and taking the conversations off the therapy couch and into the mainstream.

Cultivate Balance is a strong advocate in ending the stigmas, misperceptions, and myths that surround mental health. We want you to know you are not alone, that there is a community of support out there, and we want you to be part of it!

“After almost two decades of working with thousands of individuals in their journey through life, I have seen one theme consistently over time, across race, age, sex, class & struggle….. and this is balance. I have developed a deep belief that ‘life is about balance’….and working to ‘cultivate balance’ in one’s life”. ~ Amanda

Helping others to find balance is incredibly important and inspiring. Finding balance is about progress, not perfection. Wellness is defined as a state of actively working towards the goal of improved health. In a busy world with so many distractions, people rarely find time to take care of themselves. Finding that balance between work and relaxation seems overwhelming.

When talking about wellbeing and mindfulness, people often think first about the emotional and physical dimensions. Amanda Kern focuses on balancing these facets of health as well as on the spiritual, intellectual, environmental, and social dimensions of wellness. In other words, she seeks to connect you back to yourself so that you can better connect with others and find support in a community.

As a mother of four with a full-time job, Amanda understands the difficulty of finding the time for self-care while balancing education, career, and family. Her experiences with burning out mentally and physically as a professional woman, fuel her plans to further improve the overall wellbeing of individuals through Cultivate Balance.
